Services
Serving our members, neighbors in need, and the wider San Antonio and Italian community. Benvenuti, paisan.
When Italian immigrants arrived in San Antonio, the Society helped them find homes, work and their footing. We still do that work today.
Italian culture and community
Our founding mission hasn't changed. Come to community events, help your neighbors, learn to cook Italian food, and pick up the games: bocce, backgammon and briscola.

From first words to fluent conversation, learn Italian alongside members of every age. If a fourth grader can do it, so can you.
About our Italian classesEnglish as a second language
When our ancestors arrived, the Italian Hall helped newcomers find a place to live, find work and learn English. Today the hall is open to anyone who wants to learn, practice or improve their English.

Italian citizenship by descent
Italy recognizes citizenship jure sanguinis, by bloodline. Applicants usually need:
- Birth, marriage and death certificates back to the Italian ancestor
- Naturalization records, or proof that none exist
- Translations and apostilles for every document
In 2025 Italy narrowed citizenship by descent, generally to applicants with an Italian parent or grandparent. Call us before you start collecting records.
The Society works closely with the Italian Consulate in Houston. Call the club at (210) 223-8284.

Volunteering
San Francesco di Paola is known for his works of charity. Our community was built by people who came together to help one another, and everyone needs a hand at some point.
Volunteer to help those in need, offer friendship to the lonely and comfort to the grieving. Build character, learn new skills and find your purpose.
